the Platforms

one aspect of the stargazing structure is

the continuous journey with a surprise at

the end. seven platforms spiral around

the core and reach a hight of 3,8 meters.

every platform has a unique shape and

opens up different perspectives of the

building and the core. here there are

also several wooden information boards

where you can read about the sky. the

last platform is a net where you lay down

comfortably and focus on the stars. this

creates a space that the people of rindal

probably never have experienced before.

the platforms are not only the means

to reach the top but function also

as a roof for the sitting space, wood

storage and platforms underneath.

the construction of the platforms

were mainly prefabricated in the

woodworkshop and after they were put

in place, the membrane and cladding

were added. the main challenges

were the angles of the frames of

the platforms as they had to be very

precise in order to fit between the main

structure and the aligned core.
