the pentagonal core is founded on five
points on the concrete slab, thanks to
steel plates slotted at the bottom of the
glulam columns and connected to the
slab through special bolts in horizontal
plates.
each column section is different but all
are cut from 15 by 15 cm glulam pieces.
the columns are going all the way long
from the bottom to the top. they are
tilted according to different angles: 14
degrees at the most, 1.8 at the least.
they are linked are braced at their top by
two layers mdf panels six millimeters
each glued together.
the heartwood pine cladding covers
most of the core surfaces in between
the columns. It is punctually interrupted
where the platform core beams come.
the cladding is cut from 3.6 by 3,6 cm
pieces. those are screwed at their ends
to the core columns.
to prevent the children from climbing
the core walls, the gaps in between the
wooden pieces will be smaller first –
under 2 cm.
