structure
the project is made of the same wooden elements for the
beams and columns (2”x2” inches) separated of 50 cm in
between. the wood in the three directions is connected with
screws and connected to the ground with steel plates. the
entire construction has a systematic position of elements,
which makes the building process easier and gives a specific
architectural experience.
the structure is braced with some plywood panels (which are
used for the informations panels on the walls and the floors,
so in the three directions). there is also a second bracing
system made of plexiglass. It is used like a roof above the first
space and like a security protection on the walls (some of
them could be dangerous to climb for the children, because
of the height). With these two systems, the structure is
completely braced.
evolutIon
this wooden project will have different expressions during the
years and the spaces will change with time. the experience
will be new since the wood will change colours, depending
on the exposure to the sun, the snow and the rain. after a
couple of years, many variations will appear and will make this
stargazing tower even more attractive.
