A small family, which consists only of 1 genus and 3 species [Updated 07.05.03]. This genus was originally placed in the Ischnuridae, and was recently elevated to family status. Both species in the family are endemic to Madagascar (Africa).

Scorpions in this family are probably not kept in captivity.

No data have been found, but the scorpions in this family are probably not medically important.
