“upside down” was in many ways some of the more poetic projects,
with very strong ideas and values. so we started by sorting out and
clarifying these qualities, that can be summarized in a sketch.
three important guidelines when developing the project:
1. creating a more dynamic, uncommon space you wouldn’t find
anywhere else in rindal. this spatial quality could be reason
enough to come here.
2. an upstairs, clean space. contrasting the downstairs with its
simplicity. main focus is the sky and stargazing.
3. the transition. the journey from the spatially busy to the clean
focus of stargazing.
We did a lot of sketch modeling to find the right kind of spacial
quality, and a system that could simplify it to be buildable.
