construction

The first task was to make sense of the site by

removing the snow and some of the small bushes,

as well as probing the ground for bedrock. This

work helped to determine the exact placement of the

building, exploiting and enhancing the existing

terrain features.

Some natural stones were sourced from Røgn farm

and the shores of Vangmjøse to build an access path

and a fireplace.

The building helps to reveal the inherent qualities of

the site: an amphitheatre towards the mountains, a

cliff to climb upon, a dialogue with the slope on the

other side of the creek.
