About the Event

Day 1 – Towards 2030: Societal Priorities and Technological Change

We'll explore cross-sector challenges and how short-term priorities can contribute to a sustainable future. Discussions will cover topics such as technology neutrality, sector collaboration, and how actors from the energy, aviation, and construction industries view their roles in the transition.

Three main themes are central to the program:

  • Prioritization challenges across sectors – How should we prioritize in the short and long term towards 2030 and 2050? Which technologies and measures should we choose to reach our goals quickly and effectively?
  • Infrastructure: needs, opportunities, and challenges – Focus on development, grid capacity, and improving society's access to necessary resources and infrastructure.
  • Avoidance strategies and consumption – How can we facilitate reduced energy use and increased energy efficiency? What does this mean for future energy consumption?

We've secured external speakers who will contribute valuable insights and perspectives, including Elin Lerum Boasson, Nils Kristian Nakstad, and Rune Volla.

Day 2 – Status and the Way Forward: First steps towards a new national Research and Innovation Agenda

Day two will launch a new NTRANS initiative: Agenda 2035. The goal of this initiative is to develop a research and innovation agenda for Norwegian energy and climate transition work over the next decade. The day will combine inspirational talks with researchers and practitioners from NTRANS and beyond with hands-on work to begin carving out this agenda.

Registration deadline: November 30, 2024.
