JIRA/Confluence:
NTNU IT does operation and management for IDI. Local IT dept. responsible for physcal operations in Ålesund/Gjøvik whilescientific staff administers users and projects.

A working group should be established for those with an interest in such tools - to review licensing, operation and management, ... (Arne leads)

Professional programming:
Work on a Wiki-page describing how to use smart commits - recommendations/guideline - added to the existing Bitbucket page. (Simon leads the work.)

Game development - Teaching tools without teaching:
Ålesund and Gjøvik have game development projects. IDI has a chess option for the first programming project. Students are not good in finding bugs - in general. Interest in setting up a course for debugging.Students should program code that is simpler than what they are capable of. Develop some joint model of debugging should be a follow up. (Girts leads)

Blackboard:
May wiki pages be included in an inline assessment - what grouping options are there - what possibilities are there for controlling public/private status of pages/folders? A pilot network exists. User acceptance test should be completed by 18 May - pilot users will get access after that.

Algorithms using real data:
Using Open street map data.Shortest way algorithm where selected route is plotted on the map. Helge is willing to share his software.

Student peer assessment:
A CoP dicussion of Typology of Peer Assessment in HE would be useful. Moderation necessary? (Birgit leads - but a bit later)

Virtual university:
Common infrastructure - some travelling required. Clear interest in Ålesund and at Kalvskinnet to participate. (Rune leads)

Joint base of bachelor project proposals:
Hard to find good proposals for operation and management? Best students (bachelor - but even more master - students) are often recruited for internal projects rather than external.

Recruiting students:
How to attract more female students? Drop-outs may have a bad rippling effect resulting in even more girls dropping out.

We may need to start working with 7-8 year old girls - introduce programming early. NTNU is experiencing that girls in code clubs are happy working on Scratch but drop off when text based programming is introduced. Image and role models are important - visible role models may make a difference. The young mightmore interested in "who may I become" than "what may I become"! A long term plan may be needed.

Web technology:
A CoPCSE@NTNU wiki page to be developed (Kjell Inge leads)

Low-hanging fruits with regards to total CS study offering:
Arne, Geir Ove, and Tom are members of the group appointed by NTNU to look at potential synergies. Working groups will be created for the bachelor of engineering programmes. What groups would be useful besides these: CS master programmes? Bachelor programmes in operation and management? CoPCSE is the work that will result in synergies. CoPCSE working groups will be a useful tool for the work in the formal group. The two groups should be in close touch.

Closing:
Next meeting in Ålesund. Time? Programme? Joint and/or group sessions?
