Application

Possibilities:
  • Temperature limit: 1100°C (continuous) 1200°C (absolute)
  • Max heating rate: 600°C per hour
  • Max cooling rate: dependent on gas flow, 1L/min Ar
  • Max Sample Dimensions: 48 mm diameter x 70 mm height
  • Max Sample Mass: 800 g
  • Atmosphere: CO, CO2, H2, CH4, Ar, N­2, O2, H2O
  • Maximum gas flow: 10 l/min total (except water vapour)
  • Flow meter specifications: 0.21 l/min - 10 l/min (except water vapour)
  • Water vapour: Evaporator has maximum capacity of 100 g/hr (2.265 l/min vapour at 1 bar, 100°C)
  • Off-gas analysis: IR spectrometer for CO and CO2 (last calibrated: ??)
  • Mass balance: Mettler Toledo
    • Mass range: 0 - 2100 g (normal), 0 - 2360 g (maximum)
    • Accuracy
      •  Fine range (<500 g): 1 mg
      •  Full range (>500 g): 10mg

 

 

Can not be used for:
  • liquid state reactions
Previously used for:
  • ilmenite reduction
  • manganese pre-reduction
  • direct reduction of iron ore
