The mathematics of the test of consept is pretty simple. If we define the axix from figure 1. 

  • X is the length of the box, which is approximately 160cm. 
  • Y is the width of the box, which is approximately 100cm.
  • is the height of the box, which is approximately 100cm.

As can be seen in figure 2, the math for finding the lenght of the cable for a given point (x,y,z) is to first calculate the hypotenus seen from above. This gives hypotenus1 = sqrt(x^2+y^2), and after that we calculate the hypotenus seen from the side. Since we allready know z and the length of our first edge from the hypotenus calculations, we now have 2 sides and can use pytagoras again to find the length.
