IntentIon Program
the project considers stargazing not as the only purpose
but also as an excuse to create a different and isolated
place with recreational and entertainment aims. People,
and maybe especially children, should be able to move
inside and between the structure itself, being able to
climb, to sit down on different places and levels and
also laying down. and when it comes to enjoying the sky
views, one could do it from the inside, hanging from the
structure or in an upper platform.
the sIte
the site is in the edge of an open field in rindal. the field
is open to the south and closed to the north by several
rows of trees situated in the beginning of a steep slope
and on the slope itself. the main characteristics of this
place is the steep edge and the different openings among
the trees that surround a mainly flat area.
the concePt
It’s a small structure of human scale, since the children
are going to play there or adults could even exercise. It’s
something attractive from far away since it’s noticed like
a shelter but open to the field and the sky. the different
openings in the structure itself create different windows,
frames, towards the sky.
the project presents two very different ways of enjoying
the stars. also two different places that invite respective-
ly to play and to rest. the ‘inside’ or lower-covered part,
inviting to the movement and playing, and the upper and
completely open part where you can only sit or lay down
and enjoy the peace of the place. Being in the elevate
platform provides a calmer situation, being distant (at
least in a representative way) from the floor and other
people.
