Description: Pressurized sand traps are typically constructed in unlined hydropower tunnels. In norway, most of these are emptied manually or with a flushing system. This MSc-project will investigate the optimum design of a new type of self-flushing sandtrap for pumped storage plants. The project will be conducted with 3D CFD simulations.
