Ice actions on typical Norwegian structures in harbours, fjords, rivers and lakes have some different challenges that typical Arctic Offshore structures where the driving forces are often unlimited. The current regulations are adopted from the international standard for Arctic Offshore structures and not well suited for Norwegian waters. The IMB groups for Marine Civil Engineering (MB and Hydraulic structures (VT) works together with The Norwegian Road administration (SVV) and consulting companies through field work and modelling to improve the regulations.
