How to download and install ANSYS
- Installation by NTNU Software at https://software.ntnu.no/ntnu/ansys.
- ANSYS is available at NTNU's Programfarm.
- An ANSYS free student software packages may be downloaded at https://www.ansys.com/academic/free-student-products.
Warning: If your local username contains non english letters ('æøå') you will not be able to run the software on that user
Getting started with ANSYS
- Recommended: Cornell University has a free online simulation course using ANSYS. The course includes detailed guidance on both the use of ANSYS as well as the knowlegde behind using the newest version of ANSYS available.
- Map network drive \\ifile1.ivt.ntnu.no\progdist and go to \Campus\ansys\Introkurs. Here are several good introductions to ANSYS.
- ANSYS has it's own student community where you can find a lot of helpful information: ANSYS Student Community
Useful tutorials
- On University of Alberta's website you can find some good tutorials. They were made using ANSYS 7.0, so beware of minor changes when using a newer version.
- The CEA Associates Inc. has some free ANSYS e-learning tutorials at their youtube page.
