Attendees

  • Attending: Gara, Evelyn, Amund, Mariusz, Sivert
  • Late-comers: Joao, Milica, Mariusz

Goals

  • Weekly status meeting

Action items

  •
  • Processing (from Milica)
    • Compression algorithm table done (on gdrive)
    • Some algorithms (CCSDS etc) are being implemented on hardware – being tested. Preliminary results are promising
    • JPEG2000 with reversible wavelet transform
    • Some problems with prototype that Julian will try to fix
    • Once Joao has more time, he will look into some more algorithms
  • Satellite bus update
    • OpenCosmos demo last week – Hardware-in-the-loop software/hardware
    • Positive to ADCS collaboration
  • Risk workshop
    • First iteration: Thursday 13-14
    • Second iteration: when both Joao and Sivert are available
    • From then on, every other week during weekly meeting (15 minutes update)
  • Hopavågen
    • IMU and GPS software/hardware integration are pretty much done.
    • will meet with Maritime robotics today to see about fitting the payload into their UAV.
    • Joao has booked a big van for the testing
    • Sivert will learn more about it
    • Rest of the week should be final payload assembly and testing camera settings
  • HSI Camera V6
    • There are a couple of outcomes:
    • Spatial resolution is improved to 250 m*58.5 m per pixel.
    • Please look at Figure 7. for the conclusion on performance comparison between the different versions
    • Hence the effect of higher SNR and optical resolution gives the win to V6 (SNR vs. optical resolution is a trade-off)
    • This shows that decision should lean towards V6 when we think performance
    • Decision on slit width (25 vs 75 um) needs to be done
    • Constraints of cost, size (we will have to go from 3U to 6U CubeSat structure), launch cost for satellite etc.
    • Opto-mechanical issues and coating
    • Version 6 does not perform remarkably better in terms of SNR (number of photons) however it has increased satisfactorily (V6 (75 um) twofold compared to V.4, V6(25 um) x1.4 compared to V4)
  • Mission update
    • Design and sizing of the reaction wheels (worst case)
      • Sufficient with small torques with 1deg/s
      • 60g wheel with 20mm radius
    • Mariusz will go to NASA Ames mid-March
  • Communication status
    • Ground station
      • Discussion on what new components to buy
    • Research on S-band components and ground stations
      • Asked suppliers for more info
      • Graph comparing to NKOM bands
    • Data budget (estimation)
      • Housekeeping data for QB50 programme
      • SwissCube: 1680 bits
    • Frequency allocation
      • NKOM meeting scheduled 9th March
  • No labels
