As you probably know, there was no agreement reached on the new main tariff agreement (HTA) negotiations between Tekna/Akademikerne, UNIO, and the State of Norway, so we are waiting for a decision by the national wage board which will determine how the distribution of the salary for local negotiations will be this year. It is expected that the wage board's decision will come during October 2024. There is therefore still great uncertainty regarding the implementation of this year's local salary negotiations at NTNU, but in order to be well prepared for the negotiations, we will invite all our members to submit individual salary claim forms for 2024. The new HTA for 2024-2025 is not expected until October, so there will be a very short time to complete the salary settlement locally at NTNU, and perhaps it may be difficult to finish the negotiations before by the end of the year.
Tekna/Akademikerne wants to continue the HTA agreement we had from 2016-2024, but there is a risk that we will be forced into an agreement that over time has shown to give a weak salary development for our members. If the outcome in the wage board is different from what we want, there is reason to believe that the local negotiations at NTNU will be extraordinarily demanding. In such a situation, there is unfortunately also a significant risk that we will not be able to finalize the negotiations in time for the salary adjustment to be paid out in December, as it has been in previous years.
