Strynefjellet skiresort is today served by diesel generators. To become a green destination a new energy source is needed. Studies shows that Hydropower can be the most cost efficient solution and there are possibilities to develop a hydropower scheme that can supply enough energy for present and future needs. This is an off grid site and the demand is highly variable. To develop a project that can exploit the resource optimally and completely substitute the need for fossil fuels at the resort and are financially viable needs creative thinking and alternative solutions. Can it be combined with Hydrogen production? Are there other way to store the energy and possibly reduce the need to dimension the production for peak loads.
This project will
- carry out a pre-feasibility study of the project as a basis for comparison with alternatives
- Develop alternative schemes including Hydrogen production and financial analysis
- Work together with Sintef Energy, Stryn Sommerski and Stryn Municipality
