Goals

  • Discuss current pipeline block diagram
    • clarify specific blocks such as the dimensionality reduction blocks
  • Discuss potential (bi)-weekly meeting times to keep Mariusz in the loop of primary payload development
  • Clarify why the mission will be Hyperspectral
  • Regarding meeting 2018-08-22 EstCube-1 &-2 Team, University of Tartu
    • Clarify what they thought of radiometric calibration
    • Define the feasibility of performing geo-referencing on-board
    • Discuss other relevant points from the meeting

Slight modification performed as result of the discussion

Meeting minutes

  • Do not want to perform dimensionality reduction on L1a Data
    • Corrupts the data definition
    • scientist really only want L1a for analysis
  • Perhaps a need to define our own type of data product i.e. L1c
    • To be able to follow the definitions given by NASA/ESA, and still perform deconvolution and super-resolution
  • Agreed upon weekly meetings in the time slot 16.00-17.00 (CEST) on Mondays
    • Intended to be able to raise concerns frequently
    • Intended to keep people in the loop wrt. MSc work being done
  • The data acquired in operation will be hyperspectral
    • in post-processing, could be useful compare with multispectral images
    • in post-processing, could be useful to see the performance and results of multispectral algorithms
    • possible through post-processing to do multispectral analysis on hyperspectral data
  • EstCube agrees that radiometric calibration will be necessary due to degradation
    • Could possibly need degradation model of camera to have utilizable operational data
    • in-orbit calibration will need to be performed frequently
  • geo-referencing is necessary  to be performed to have operational data
    • very difficult to fully automate, according to EstCube
  • There is still some work to be done wrt. atmospheric correction
    • conferring with relevant IOCCG report(s)
    • looking at previous project theses to see if something can be useful
