next we also saw the potential in developing the site plan and
implement the workout part of the project more. developing a
strong connection from the existing rindal culture path to the
stargazing site we believed would be important. also working
on and clarifying the site concept, stargazing, would strength-
en the identity. that is why we designed and placed several
suggestions of activities along the path leading towards the
stargazing site. one of the important and easy ways to do this
was to implement the “jumping stones”. they would be playful
activity igniters and be placed in the combinations of stars in
star constellations to include a learning effect.
the journey
When we had lead people to the stargazing tower, they would
come to a quite narrow, entrance, moving through a cavelike
situation with stories about the stars on its walls. moving
towards the open, warm space in front where a fireplace and
an extra bench would be placed. this three dimensional space
also created some quite nice spaces on the outside, among
them a waiting bench towards the east and a viewbench and
hiding spot towards the west view.
after coming through the cave you would realize that there was
a stair going up on a higher level. this would get smaller and
smaller towards the top, but let you enter a big, spacious, clean
space with high walls. the only thing to do there - look at the
sky. But also holdig double walls with room for storage.
