The population of Trondheim is expected to grow in the coming years.
Through this thesis, I have investigated how Pir II on Brattøra could be a
possible place for the city to expand.
The thesis study how to transform an active industrial harbour into an
integrated part of the city centre. How should the area be developed to
enhance its qualities as an urban waterfront? Through an urban and
architectural approach questions regarding density, the integration of
existing buildings and the connection to the water have been studied, and
concludes in the end in a master plan of the area.
