ERASMUS MUNDUS MASTER IN SECURITY AND MOBILE COMPUTING
AbOUT THE STUDy PROGRAMME
The NordSecMob - Master’s Pro-
gramme in Security and Mobile
Computing is a full-time Master of
Science degree programme with a
duration of two years. During these two
years, students will study at two of the
five Nordic partner universities: Aalto
University (formerly Helsinki University
of Technology) in Finland, the Technical
University of Denmark (DTU), KTH
Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in
Sweden, the Norwegian University of
Science and Technology (NTNU) and the
University of Tartu (UT) in Estonia. The
joint curriculum has been developed
to take advantage of the strengths and
research specialisation of each member
university.
The areas of specialisation are:
• Aalto: Technical Information Security
and Network Services
• KTH: Communications Systems
Design
• NTNU: Information Security
• DTU: Reliable Software Systems
• UT: Mathematical Foundations of
Cryptography
The NordSecMob programme leads to
two officially recognized MSc degrees
(120 ECTS) issued by the ‘home’ and
‘host’ universities (double degree). For

STUDy ENvIRONMENT
The first part of the study is taken at
one of the three ‘home’ universities:
Aalto, KTH or NTNU. For the second
part the students move to another ‘host’
university depending on the selected
area of specialisation.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission criteria to the programme
is a high quality Bachelor’s degree
encompassing a minimum of 180 ECTS
credits in Engineering (Computer
Science or Information Technology) or
equivalent studies, i.e. a degree consis-
ting of at least three years of full-time
studies. For additional information see

JOb PROSPECTS
NordSecMob graduates are equipped
to be employed internationally in a
wide range of industrial and academic
jobs, including expert roles, R&D,
research and management positions.
The programme also gives a solid basis
for further studies towards a doctorate
level.
THE PROGRAMME IS SUITED FOR
students who like to study in an interna-
tional and multicultural environment.
There are great opportunities to acquire
knowledge of new cultures, and make
friendship with fellow students from all
parts of the world.
Mobile computing and com-
munications allow users to
communicate and access
their data anywhere and at
any time. This study pro-
gramme is about the tech-
nologies and techniques
needed to allow the users to
benefit from these pervasive
technologies in a secure and
safe manner. New mobile
devices extend mobile com-
munication with powerful
computing, enabling new
services in new markets.

ADvANTAGES
The consortium consists of well-known
research and educational institutions in
Europe and top-ranked Universities of
Technology in the Nordic countries. A
limited number of EU-funded scholar-
ships are available for both EU/EEA and
third country nationals.
