THE METHOD
As the frames were produced they were also marked to show
where the cladding was to be placed. The drawings were taken
from section cuts in the SketchUp model.
This was to make the mounting on site in Rindal easier, quicker,
and more accurate.
The system worked well on site, used as a guideline for
placement.
The placement of the cladding was marked on every built frame to speed up the building process The cladding was made in the workshop in Trondheim, and shipped to Rindal
THE BOARDS
Like decribed earlier the boards were split 2” by 4” fur hartwood.
They were split with an angle, making a slope for the water to
run off.
On the bottom of the boards a track was carved out, letting the
water drip off instead of running along the bottom. This helps
keeping running water on the outside of the cladding.
