About the research group

The Management and organization of social and health services group (MARS) conducts project-based research. We publish articles and systematic reviews of evidence to guide decision-makers, improve health and welfare services, and strengthen population health outcomes. MARS conducts applied research with a multidisciplinary and multimethod starting point, rooted in comparative health services research.

Topics of interest include:

  • systematic reviews of complex health system interventions, and methods for synthesizing the findings of multiple qualitative studies and assessing confidence in such findings
  • knowledge-making and technological innovation in healthcare
  • management and leadership in healthcare organizations
  • health policy and reforms
  • integrated care
  • sustainable healthcare
  • the role of GPs in NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration)
  • patient safety and Root Cause Analysis
