Attendees

Roger and Mariusz was in California at NASA Ames and could not attend the meeting.

Update from João

  • Fred has a new draft of a paper where he explains that the only spectral range worth using with his imager is 400-800nm. UV-light under 400nm is absorbed by grass and second spectral order will appear and blend in over 900nm.
  • João sent out a new document with SNR calculations but hasn't gotten any feedback yet. The calculations are based on this article https://www.resonon.com/whitepapers/Resonon%20SNR%20Discussion_v5.pdf. The article was sent to the email list, but Julian helped Mariusz and Tor Arne with calculating SNR based on the same article in a separate email thread and notes we have to do a better job of communicating so that we don't end up doing overlapping work.
  • Has been running various tests with the sensor and noticed that there's a lot of drift in the data due to temperature. The image sensor has a temperature sensor but it's not accessible from the software API he is using so we have to make sure to include it in our own prototype.
  • Discovered that the gain settings from the software he has been using is inaccurate and found a new way to set gain which gives better data.
  • Discovered that the optics and slit is loose in the imager. If the signal is shifted we can crop the sensor differently in software and still get good data but we should keep all this in mind when doing thermal and vibration testing.

Update from Milica

Has been working on the technical report all week.

Update from Sivert

  • Met with the professor from the material sciences department (name?) who offered to help us do thermal testing. He needs more information about what kind of tolerances we can accept.

Has added a page on the wiki for thermal testing procedures.

Update from Jan-Otto

  • Has sent out information on email and answered Kanna's questions/concerns.
  • Is going to work on clarifying what is the input and output of the OTFP.
  • And is going to help Milica figure out where the FPGA fits in to the OTFP.

Update from Julian

  • Major issues with NTNU's Altium Designer license server but managed to finished first pass of PCB for the prototype.
  • Need a better CAD model of the 3D printed plastic and optics before it can be put in production.
  • Need to modify the 3D print we have now to fit our form factor.
  • Based on a mini design-review done in the meeting we need to add USB 2.0 support for transferring images and adding the ability to use the sensor for firmware simulations on the computer and vice versa.
  • Milica needs USB-UART communication for debugging.
  • Not enough storage on the PicoZed board so we are going to need to add a SD-card slot + support for drone flights etc.
