Getting started in the XRD lab

Before starting:

• We recommend that your XRD samples are ready or nearly ready
• Register for a training by filling in this form:

  Alternatively contact lab responsible, and agree a time for training
• You will receive an email with links/forms (see below), and a powerpoint presentation with videos that you should watch before attending the training.
• Fill in relevant forms:
  
  1. new user form (link in email)
  2. room access form (attached to email)
• Create an account in the booking system
• Find the relevant project number for billing the use (students should ask their supervisor)
• It is recommended to make a plan for what you want to measure and why; such as finding suitable literature for XRD on similar samples.

At the training:

We will look into:

• Sample preparation
• Setting up measurement parameters
• Etc.

After the training:

You will receive some information about

• how to find and analyse your data
