Svandalsfossen is an impressive, 180 m high waterfall in Rogaland, Norway. During normal discharges, only a small portion of the water sprays onto the nearby road. But after heavy rainfalls or during snowmelts, the resulting fog can become a high risk for passing cars.

Aim of the Master thesis is to look into the details of possible mitigation measures, including the use of metal from the nearby production. The thesis should include the design of a physical or/and a numerical model to test the designed mitigation measures.

Regnet og dei store nedbørsmengdene gjer det naudsynt med manuell dirigering av trafikken ved Svandalsfossen. Bildet er frå ein regntung dag tidlegare. Arkivfoto.
