Description: Upgrading of the installed capacity in the 960 MW Tonstad hydropower plant is challenging owing to the danger of free surface flow in the sandtrap. This MSc-project will investigate the promising solution where a boosterpump i placed at the intake to increase the pressure in the tunnel. The work will be conducted with production simulations in excel and 1D hydraulic transient simulations in the freeware LVTrans.
