This task is divided in two parts:

The first part is related to snow measurements in the Namsvatn catchment. NTE may not be allowed to measure snow in the Børegfjell national park in the future, and they therefore want to know if measurement sites outside the national park is representative for the park. This task should be done by a statistical analysis of historical measurements outside and inside of the national park.

The second part should investigate inflow computations for the catchments Namsvatn, Meråker and Follavatn. The model should use simulated Arome data as input, and these should be compared to similar data from Storm. The comparison should focus on calibration quality, uncertainty and the applicability of using the data for long term and short term forecasting.

The thesis will be a co-operation with Bjørn Sæther, hydrologist at NTE.
