LaTeX Template
A template for project and master's theses in LaTeX is available as a zip-file. The zip-file contains all the files you need to write your theses. You should unzip the files and put all the files into a folder called, for example, project or master on your computer. You may write your thesis by replacing the text in the files. It is the .tex, .bib, and figure files that are important to consider. All the other files are generated by LaTeX when you compile your .tex file. The file thesis.pdf is the output from your work. Please read the file README.txt before you start using the template.
A brief introduction to writing your project or master thesis is provided in the following set of slides.
Microsoft Word
If you (still) prefer to write your thesis in Microsoft Word, you have to make your own style. It is preferred that you adapt your style as closely as possible to the style of the LaTeX template. Have a look at the file thesis.pdf and try to use the same margins, font sizes, and so on. The font used in the LaTeX template is Adobe Utopia. If you do not have this font, try to choose a similar serif font. You should never write your report with a sans serif textfont, such as Arial, Helvetica, or Calibri – it may look nice, but is very tiring and difficult to read.
