Oppgave nr.: BM9
Kort beskrivelse av oppgaven:
Bifacial solar cell panels are mounted on a flat roof on NTNU Gløshaugen campus (Sentralbygg 1). The panels are mounted on four racks which each holds two panels. Furthermore, the panels may be turned and tilted in the desired directions and inclinations either manually or automatically (e.g. tracking the sun). Various roofing materials with different solar radiation reflection abilities will be placed under the bifacial solar cell panels, including reference roofing materials, specifically developed reflecting roofing materials, other highly reflecting materials, and snow and frost layers during winter. Weather data (e.g. solar radiation) will also be measured. Moreover, comparisons with field studies of bifacial solar cell panels mounted on the flat roof of an Isola factory building in Porsgrunn may also be possible. In addition, these roofing materials will also be studied in the laboratory by e.g. measuring their total, direct and diffuse reflectance values in the whole solar wavelength spectrum. The field and laboratory studies will also be compared with theoretical modelling work. The students may work in teams with their own defined separate work tasks they are the main responsible persons for or in more individual work tasks. Specific and tailor-made work tasks will be discussed and assigned in meetings between the students and the supervisors.
