Abstract submission is now closed.

Peer-review of the abstracts is completed and the decision on the acceptance/rejection is sent out. The authors, who have not received email of the abstract acceptance/rejection (possibly email failure, do not forget to check junk folder in your mailbox), let us know through our contact email, iahr2022@videre.ntnu.no. We will resend the email.

Abstract submission deadline

Submit your abstract no later than 01 November 2021, 23:59 CET.

Abstracts submitted after the deadline, shall not be accepted.

Format

The abstract should describe the background of research work, methods and expected results. The recommended length of the abstract is 300 – 500 words in A4 size paper format. The recommended font description: size 12pt, paragraph line spacing 1.5, font type – open Sans, Serif, Arial, Calibri, Times New Roman, LaTeX. Do not use mono space fonts. Upload *.pdf file of the abstract before the deadline.

Review

The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the organizing and scientific committees. The review criteria are based on scope of the symposium, quality and depth of the scientific results (expected), methodology and format guideline.

Manuscript submission deadline: 28 February 2022, 23:59 CET (extended)

Format requirement

During the first round of review process, author(s) do not have to (necessarily) perform final formatting of the manuscript. However, please note that the overall formatting must be followed. The manuscript paper should be A4 size, 12pt font, 1.5 line spacing (or 21.6pt), font type – Times New Roman or LaTeX. The line numbers must (continuous) be included in the manuscript; see example https://bit.ly/3bUgyFa. Reviewers will make suggestions using the line numbers. This will help authors to address the comments precisely.

The manuscript must be submitted through the submission portal. Upload *.pdf file of the manuscript before the deadline. The maximum supported file size is 20 MB. The maximum permissible pages are ten in the final format (IOP Science) therefore make sure your manuscript is not too long.

Use well-structured content and headings in the manuscript, e.g., Introduction, Materials and methods, Experimental setup, Numerical setup, Results and discussions, Conclusions, Future work, Acknowledgements, Author contribution, References. This is not mandatory requirement, but well-structured contents help to maintain uniformity across manuscripts of the symposium.

The organizing committee strongly encourage the authors to use nomenclatures and abbreviations identical to IEC standards (TC4 - hydropower/turbine). This will help to maintain uniformity across the manuscripts and the international standards. It is highly recommended to SI based units and the matric system in the manuscripts. Affiliation

Write authors name preciously in the manuscript to enable accurate indexing and citation. We encourage authors to write ORCID identifiers (if available) along with the affiliation for all authors to avoid ambiguity. If an author’s current address is different from the address where the work was carried out, this should be explained in a footnote or acknowledgement.

Language requirement

Manuscript must be in English language (preferably UK). Reviewers may not make suggestions for grammatical errors and poor sentence structures. Authors themselves are responsible for language correction. Articles should be clearly and concisely written, and be accessible to an international audience. You should aim for consistency within your article in matters such as hyphenation and spelling. All acronyms and abbreviations should be clearly explained when they first appear in the text. We encourage authors to use inclusive language (e.g., ‘they’ instead of ‘he’ or ‘she’) wherever possible.

On completion of the first draft, carefully re-read your paper and make any amendments that will improve the content. When complete, send the paper to colleagues and co-authors, and use their feedback to improve the clarity of the text. When all co-authors are satisfied that the draft is ready to be submitted to the submission portal, carry out one final spelling and grammar check before the submission.

Abstract

The main purpose of an abstract is to contextualize and describe the work in a concise way and easily-understood manner. This will ensure that the scientific work is found and read by the intended audience. Avoid usage of very specific and highly technical words. Clarity in writing is extremely important in the abstract. Clarity is achieved by providing information in a predictable order. Successful abstracts therefore are composed into following order. (1) General and specific background. Do not add much jargon or description. (2) Knowledge Gap. (3) Method. (4) Main results outcome (5) Conclusion. The maximum permissible length of the abstract is 200 words.

Copyright and publishing

Manuscripts, which are accepted and successfully presented in the symposium will be published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES); online ISSN: 1755-1315. The manuscripts will be part of dedicated volume of 31st symposium on hydraulic machinery and systems. The manuscripts will be published under the category of gold open access. All authors publishing on an open access basis in IOP Publishing’s journals retain the copyright and publish under a CC BY 4.0 licence.

The author(s) also warrant(s) that they act on behalf of, and with the knowledge of, all authors of the manuscript, that the manuscript does not infringe any third-party rights, it contains nothing libelous, all factual statements are, to the best of the authors’ knowledge and belief, true or based on valid research conducted according to accepted norms and our ethical policy been obtained. By submitting the manuscript, authors agree to the Vancouver Convention and compliance with the Helsinki Declaration on the authorship, research ethics and scholarly work. Peer review criteria


Peer review of papers published in the IOP Conference Series titles is undertaken through processes administered by the organizers and proceedings editors. The conference organizer follows the guideline available from IOP Science. All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed under the category of single-blind review.

Final formatting requirement

When the manuscript is completely accepted by the reviewers, authors can deliver the final manuscript with correct formatting. Please note that the manuscripts, which are in the category of ‘major revision’ and ‘minor revision’ are not considered as ‘completely accepted.’ IOP Publishing requires to meet formatting guideline absolutely. Any manuscript, which does not meet the formatting guidelines, will be returned by the IOP publisher and the publication of all manuscripts will be halted. This will delay the publication process. We do not have permission to edit/modify any manuscript. Authors themselves are responsible for the final formatting.

Are you using material from other sources?

Sometimes authors use Figures, tables, etc. from other published work. Permissions Note that it is also authors’ responsibility to obtain written permission from the copyright holder for any figures you have reused from elsewhere. This will also include any figures that you created yourself but have previously been published by another publisher, unless that publisher allows you to reuse them without permission under their author rights policy. Indexing of the manuscripts

Symposium will submit all manuscript, finally accepted by the reviewers and presented in IAHR 2022 Trondheim, to the IOP Publisher EES after the symposium. IOP Publishing provides volume data to the abstracting and indexing providers on publication. However, it is at the discretion of each provider as to how quickly they upload new content.
