Outbreaks of supraglacial lakes (dammed by ice or moraines) or subglacial lakes can lead to large flood events. These events are strongly affected by climate change. Through climate change and with the fact, that environmental changes are occurring with high speed in glacial regions the solutions nature finds on its own can lead to geohazards. The aim of the Master thesis is to analyse the solutions the nature itself finds and to compare them with solutions we as engineering use, in order to improve them by learning from nature. There might be the oppotrunity to bulid up a model in the laboratory, depending on the COVID-19 restrictions.
