How to download and install Nauticus Hull** Note: You have to be connected to the NTNU network through eduroam to perform this installation ** Follow these steps to install Nauticus Hull to a Windows computer: - Map network drive \\nordlys.marin.ntnu.no\marin-prg\. If you are having trouble mapping the network drive, please follow the instructions on this webpage. If you are having trouble running FEM-analyses in Nauticus Hull or GeniE, it might be because GeniE has not located the path to Sestra (which is actually the FEM-processor of GeniE). Start GeniE, open the 'File' menu and click 'Set External Applications'. Choose the Sestra option, and click Browse. Find the directory where you installed Sestra, and find Bin/sestra.exe. ** For users of Linux and Mac OS:** Nauticus Hull is unfortunately only available for Windows operating systems. The easiest way to sun Nauticus Hull if you do not have Windows already (as part of a dual boot configuration) is to install Windows as a virtual PC inside your existing operating system. This can be done in various ways, but the easiest and cheapest way is to use the free (GPL-licenced) virtualization package VirtualBox. If you do not have a valid Windows license, this can be acquired for free at Gurutjenesten-/wiki/English/Microsoft+Windows. After VirtualBox and Windows is configured, you can follow this guide as normal. |
