For the start-up training, you will be put in small groups of 3-5 participants. In quiet times of the year (December to August), this means that you might have to wait up to a few weeks for the group to fill up. In the period September-November, there will normally be at least one training per week. We recommend that you have your samples ready - or nearly ready - at the time of the the training. Then it is easier for us to tailor the training for your specific type of samples, in addition to you being better able to remember the training until you next need to use the instrument on your own. At the start-up training, you will be trained on either DaVinci1 or D8-Focus (please let lab responsible know if you have any preferences on which one), and then you will be qualified to use that specific instrument. When you find out you need the XRD-training, please email lab responsible for being put on a waiting list for the relevant training.

Booking and logging the use of the diffractometers
- The The Routine Powder Diffraction Instrument does not operate after a booking-calendar, since the users simply leaves samples in the queue. The bills for the usage are calculated from the Excel-log spreadsheet on the instrument-PC in the lab.
- D8-Focus, DaVinci2 and the A-unit The 9-position Powder diffractometer, the Multipurpose powder diffractometer and the High Resolution diffractometer should be booked in the booking-system. Here you find help for getting started and using the booking system. The bills for usage will be calculated from the bookings after 1st May 2016.
- D8-Advance The Non-ambient XRD instrument cannot be booked. Experiments on this instrument should be agreed with lab responsible in advance.
