| How to download 3D Beam to your personal computer: - Follow the installation instructions on DNV GL. Note that 3D Beam is not included when downloading Nauticus Hull from NTNU Software, so you will have to download it using DNV GL's customer login.
- When you have gotten an account, locate the latest version of Nauticus Hull, make sure it includes 3D Beam (see picture) and download it (see picture).
- You may encounter an error when unzipping the files downloaded ("Error 0x80010135 ...", see picture). If this error occurs, try unzipping the folder using a file archiver, e.g. 7-Zip. To help you with this, we have made a short guide on how to unzip a file using 7-Zip at Tips & tricks.
- You may use the same licence as described on DNV GL.
How to use 3D Beam on a campus computer: Warning | The versions available here are currently outdated, and are not recommended. | - Go to software.ntnu.no
- Type "DNV" in the search bar and hit enter. Click on the DNV hyperlink.
Image Added - In the top right corner choose Nauticus Hull 20.11 and click "Last ned".

- After it is downloaded click on the file one time and hit the button "Pakk ut alle", usually found in the toolbar.
- Click on the folder you just downloaded until you see this:

- Double-click on the "Nauticus Hull V20"-folder.
- Double-click on "Setup". Then a window with text "Vil du tillate at denne appen gjør endringer på enheten?" will show up. Click "Ja".

- Click Next, Agree, and Install.
- When installed search for "3D beam" in the search box at the bottom left of your screen:

- If you get the image below you have completed the download and installation successfully.

How to use 3D Beam through a remote desktop:

Access one of the remote desktops, guide here. Note that not all remote desktops have 3D Beam installed. If you should connect to one that doesn't, try another one.
Choose: ”Start”, ”All Programs”, ”DNV Software”, (evt. “Applications”), ”NAUTICUS 3D Beam”
