At least twelve weeks. This may be divided in parts of at least four weeks each.
We recommend to plan the internship in the four month break between the NTNU Spring semester and the TUB Winter semester.
Previous internships of work experience may be approved. See requirements below.

Documentation requirements internship
(Training center = organization where the internship is taken.)
A signed and dated certificate from the training center with the following information:
- Training center and contact information for the internship director,
- Intern’s surname, first name, and date and place of birth,
- Start date and end date of internship,
- Exact information on days absent (even if no days were missed),
- Description of the tasks according to area, type, and duration
- A few sentences with a confirmation that there has been a final meeting between the intern and the internship director (a senior supervisor) with reflection on the tasks and what was learned within the training center.
Note that to get the TUB diploma you need the internship. However, without one you may still fulfill all requirements for the NTNU SESAM diploma as a single degree.
