- Always use 3 layers of gloves. First cotton gloves, then black glove box gloves and then plastic gloves when working inside the glove box
- 2. Taking things in and out of the glove box

- Do not place anything containing water or air into the box.

- Try not to bring any type of paper, rubber, wood and textile.

- All flasks placed in the box must be argon filled or evacuated in the antechamber.

- Make sure all empty containers are open when the antechamber is being pumped down.

- Do not take any powder materials in a fully open container, as they may fly and contaminate the glove box.

- When placing lightweight objects in the box, secure them, make them heavier with plastic clips or something else with some weight.

- Always evacuate at least 3 times before putting something in or out of the glove box through the large or small antechamber.

- Do not leave the antichamber’s door open for long time.

- 3. Precautions while working in the glove box

- Never open both the inner and outer antechamber doors at the same time

- Never open the antechamber from inside the box without being certain that they have recently been filled with argon

- Make sure that the antechamber doors have been closed, especially the ones inside the box

- Do not leave the inner antechamber door open and evacuate the antechamber. The gloves will be sucked in to the box, expand up and then burst

- Be extremely careful with sharp tool when working inside the glove box. Gloves are expensive and replacements are required if damaged

- The H2O and O2 level should be around 0, 1 ppm.
- 4. Housekeeping rules for the glove box

- Always cover the bottom/floor or the box with aluminium foil or plastic before handling any kind of chemicals. If you accidentally spill some on the bottom, remove it immediately.

- Used plastic/foil/gloves should be put into a plastic bag and removed when full. Dirty ones should not be left inside after use, remove when finished

- When you are finished with the box, clean it up. Leave it in equal or better condition compared to when you started your work

- Remove the outer gloves when you are finished working

- Always use the log book to register the chemicals/equipment that have been placed in or taken out of the box, and also the H2O /O2 pressure inside the box before and after opening the antechamber
