For users of Linux and Mac OS: The DNV GL Software is unfortunately only available for Windows operating systems. The easiest way to run Sesam if you don't have Windows already (as part of a dual boot configuration, see our guide) is to install Windows as a virtual PC inside your existing operating system. This can be done in various ways, but we have made a guide on Installing a virtual machine using VirutalBox. If you do not have a valid Windows license, this can be acquired for free atby following these instructions from NTNU Innsida. After VirtualBox and Windows is configured, you can follow this guide as normal.

How to download and install DNV GL Software

If you are downloading several programs from DNV GL, it will benefit to download the Application Version Managerwhich keeps track of all installed programs such that they can be located by other Sesam applications.

  • To install and licence most of the DNV GL Software products, visit NTNU Software's page on DNV GL and follow the instructions. To specify which product you want, click "See all versions" before downloading.
  • The DNV GL Sesam programs may also be downloaded from this page (32-bit, but notice link to 64-bit at page). To licence the software, follow the same instructions as above.
  • The DNV GL programs can be downloaded from their webpage: Customer login. You will need to register first, but all ntnu e-mail addresses will be accepted for making an account, though there could be some waiting time before the account is activated. To licence the software, follow the same instructions as above.
