"Mountain medicine is a term that describes the prevention and treatment of medical conditions that occur in high-altitude environments. Mountain medicine is characterized by the external conditions creating challenges, making even simple medical examinations and interventions very demanding."

Current search and rescue training in challenging environments, with focus on hypothermia treatment, have no feedback and evaluation based on the performance of the training. Evaluation is based on if you followed the correct procedure and performed the correct  actions with regards to treatment of the patient. However, it does not display the impact of these actions or the status of the patient as a result of the training. The task for the master project is to contribute with a prototype that contribute to evaluate the training. The project will contain a way of measuring the different temperature losses based on the actions performed. A way of displaying symptoms will be implement to create a more realistic scenario. Change in pulse beat frequency as a response to the temperature measurement, shivering motions and measuring the handling/transportation of the patient could be some of these.

1 Find a way to measure differences in temperature loss

2. Implement changing pulse beat as a response to the temperature measurement

3. Using a IMU (accelerometer + gyro) for measuring the movement of the patient.

Excessive movement or rough handling of a hypothermic patient could cause cold blood to flow to the heart and cause a cardiac arrest.

3. Shivering motions corresponding to the temperature values
