How can sustainability be part of education and the design of the study programmes?

At this webinar we will address how sustainability can be part of education and the design of learning objectives in study programmes, in order to ensure that candidates develop competence profiles that are better aligned with their needs when contributing to meet sustainability challenges in their professional life.

We will address approaches and examples from NTNU and other universities in Norway and abroad.

The webinar is open to anyone, and we would appreciate lots of students and employees to attend. You will participate without audio/video, but are encouraged to use the Q&A functionality during the webinar.

Ruth Astrid is a freelance moderator and writer and she will be moderating four of the sustainability webinars in this series. Since 2009 she has worked within the field of communication, primarily focusing on climate, energy and the environment.

Geir Egil Dahle Øien is project manager for NTNU's central education development project "Technology studies of the future" which will focus on how sustainability can be incorporated into study programs within the technology educations.

Jostein Vik is an Associate professor in political science at NTNU, Department of sociology and political science. His research interests is located in the intersection between public policy and rural and regional political economy.

Solve Sæbø is Pro-Rector for education at NMBUand also sits on the National Agenda 2030 Committee. He will talk about their work to integrate sustainability into education

Eirin Bar is an Associate Professor at the department of Biotechnology and Food Science, where I will focus on teaching sustainable food production, hygienic design and packaging in combination with food processing equipment design and development.​​​​​​​
