null Hydro's work with lean and their collaboration with Lean Digital

The first collaboration partner we will present is Hydro. We have had many research projects together with Hydro in recent years, where one of the main areas has been their Aluminium Metal Business System (AMBS). 

Short introduction of Hydro:
Hydro is a leading aluminium and energy company. Founded in Norway 1905 and with about 30 000 employees in 30 countries. Aluminium Metal is a business area producing anodes, liquid metal and alloyed casting products.

How do Hydro work with lean?
Aluminium Metal launched it’s production system in 2007, it’s a system that has roots from Lean, Six sigma and theory of constraint. In 2013 the production was renamed Aluminium Metal Business System (AMBS).

Why is lean important to Hydro?
AMBS is our DNA. The business system describes how we work with continuous improvement at plants as well as in staff functions.

What have you gained from the collaboration with Lean Digital?
Through AMBS we have cooperated with universities as well as other companies in research projects ever since the start in 2007. We utilize research results to improve our business system.
