Målgruppe

The course is for students and researchers in the field of brain health, exercise physiology, and healthcare professionals specializing in neuroscience.

Innhold

The course promotes knowledge and utilization of physical activity for brain health throughout life, offering participants the opportunity to hear from experts in the field through digital lectures. 

The course aims to provide insight into exercise physiology, the fundamental principles of training, lifestyle changes, and considerations specific to individuals at risk of cognitive decline. Upon completion, participants will have knowledge in exercise physiology, the healthy and the diseased brain, brain aging, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.

Undervisning, eksamen og pensum

Tid og sted for undervisning

All teaching is in English.

The course is completely online.  It consists of digital lectures, approximately two hours per week, a written report, and a home exam.

The course starts with a digital lecture by the course coordinators, postdoctoral researcher Atefe R. Tari and Professor Ulrik Wisløff, on January 13, 2025. After that, there will be 1-2 digital lectures each week throughout the semester. The topic for the written report is given during the course, with submission by the end of April.

Eksamensbeskrivelse

Home exam during NTNU’s official exam period (May 5 – June 6, 2025). An approved written report is required to participate in the home exam.

Pensumlitteratur/kursmateriell

Scientific papers (about 30) will constitute the reading material, totaling 100 pages. These will be provided as PDF files in the digital course room.

Prisinformasjon

Pris: 3500 Kr

3 500 NOK (≈ 300 EUR). Students from countries outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland must pay a tuition fee of 24 000 NOK. Also, all students at NTNU must pay a student fee to be allowed to take the exam. For the spring 2025, the current the fee is 700 NOK (≈ 60 EUR).
