Trondheim Academy of Fine Art (KiT) is an institute of the
Faculty of Architecture and Fine Art at the Norwegian University
of Science and Technology (NTNU) and operates both indepen-
dently and within the university fields of studies. This unique
situation in Norway allows the MFA students to explore and
investigate in different disciplines.
ABOUT THE STUDY PROGRAMME:
The MFA at Trondheim Academy of Fine
Art (KiT) is a two-year study program
with focus on theory and studio practice.
It emphasizes experimentation and
interdisciplinary approaches to studio
production by making use of a variety of
mediums and media.
In the MFA course all MFA students come
regularly together. This course focuses
on the articulation and communication
of ideas to support the artistic develop-
ment of the MFA student. Research is
addressed as much as studio practice
to learn to contextualize and to examine
ones project / work and concerns within
historic and contemporary fields of
cultural productions.
Art & Common Space is a course offered
to master's students from the fields of
Fine Art and Architecture. It is a course
that works with theory and practice
through investigation and experiencing
of space.
Experts in Teamwork /(EiT) is a course
in collaboration with other fields of study
at NTNU.
CREDITS
The two-year study program comprises
a total of 120 credits, where 60 credits
indicate a workload for a full time
student for one academic year.
Finals

dies the students are asked to deliver a
paper of thesis about their work/project,
a portfolio of their works and to present
their MFA project/work in a Master exhi-
bition show (the exhibition venues vary).
