What happens in a city where the population multiplied b
15 from 1940 until the recent years? What processes has
the city gone through and how is it today? Lima in Peru
experienced a rapid growth and so called informal devel-
opment. This has resulted in segregation in the city, and I
seek to look into how an old informal neighbourhood can
be better connected to its surrounding urban fabric. What
are the problems and challenges? How can we face these
challenges through urban planning and architecture?
