WORKING CONDITIONS

Working hours
Working hours are from 08.00 to 15.45 with the lunch break included. During the
summer season, from 1 May until 31 August, working hours are from 08.00 to 15.00.
This will give a total of 37,5 hours per week for a full working year. Employees should
be at their place of work during working hours, unless the work has to be done else-
where for specifc reasons. In such cases, this must be agreed with the head of the
relevant department or the Division Director, and be in accordance with established
rules regarding absence.
Time off in lieu of pay/overtime
NTNU does not have a fxed policy regarding the registration of working hours.
Remuneration is not normally paid for more than 37.5 hours of work per week.
Occasionally, however, there will be a need for staff to work overtime. This can be
compensated for through time off from work by prior arrangement. If overtime is
required by the management, the employee may also be entitled to overtime pay. For
more information please contact the head of your department or the administrative
staff.
Holiday
The length of the holiday is 5 weeks per year. Employees who are more than 60
years of age have the right to 6 weeks of holiday per year. The summer holidays are
