DETAILING
The stair stringers had to be prefabricated before building. The
production of the stringers was more complex than ordinary
stringers. The different pieces of the stair had to be drawn
precisely in a 3D-model. Ordinary 2D drawings would have
been hard to make without the help of the 3D model due to
the slanting angles in the construction. The drawings were
printed out in scale 1:1 and transferred to the 2x12 inch timber
members manually. The members were later hand cut and
sanded to minimize any inaccuracies. Despite low tolerances in
the construction the stringers fit perfectly on site.
