Introduction to a strategic process
In our webinar series on NTNU’s strategic process for sustainability, we want to discuss expert approaches, show examples, launch a dialogue about this process, provide inspiration and show what a sustainability initiative could mean in practice for NTNU.
This webinar presents NTNU’s commitment to sustainability and give some information about the background for this strategic process at NTNU. There are presentations from Rector Anne Borg, Professor Katherine Richardson from University of Copenhagen, Dr. Martin Eriksson from SDSN-NE and Professor Helge Brattebø from NTNU.

Martin Eriksson
Martin Eriksson is Network Manager at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Northern Europe. The SDSN-NE gathers more than 60 Nordic universities and other knowledge institutions to identify and fill knowledge gaps, provide high-quality education for sustainable development, and provide advice and solution for the transformation to a sustainable society.
Katherine Richardson
Katherine Richardsen is Professor in Biological Oceanography and Leader of the Sustainability Science Centre at University of Copenhagen. The overall focus of her research is to better understanding of the role of biological processes and biodiversity on the cycling of carbon in the upper ocean and how this impacts food webs and the global carbon cycle. She is a core researcher in an international research team focusing on identifying Planetary Boundaries, and she is one of the co-authors of the Global Sustainable Development Report 2019, published by UNESCO.
Anne Borg
Anne Borg was appointed as Rector at NTNU 13 December 2019.
Anne Borg was Acting Rector at NTNU 21 August 2019–12 December 2019. She was Pro-Rector for Education at NTNU 1 August 2017–20 August 2019. She was Dean at the Faculty of Natural Sciences 1 August, 2013 - 31 July, 2017 and Vice Dean for Education at the faculty 2005-2013. Anne Borg is a professor in condensed matter physics since 1998 at the Department of Physics. She is honorary doctor at Lund University from 2018.
Helge Brattebø
Helge Brattebø is Professor of industrial ecology and Director of NTNU Sustainability. His research is on environmental systems analysis of urban systems and infrastructure, including waste and urban water systems management, building stocks energy and emissions performance, and zero emission neighborhoods.
