Abstract

There is an expectation that teacher education programs train teachers who can conduct practical, relevant, and inquiry-based teaching. One measure that can contribute to this is to provide pre-service teachers with experiences and opportunities to reflect on the use of digital learning resources. In this article, we describe the development and testing of a digital resource about the Periodic table for inquiry-based learning about the nature of science (NOS). A survey suggests that pre-service teachers see the benefit of being able to use such a resource in schools. In this article, we provide some concrete suggestions on how the resource can be used for reflective teaching in teacher education.
