It is NOT sufficient that the degree was taught in English. English language must have been the academic focus of the degree.

You have to document English proficiency
You do NOT meet any of the requirements for exemption, and will have to upload documentation of English proficiency when applying at NTNU.
The following are accepted proofs of English proficiency. You can find links directly to these on our webpage
• TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition:
- Minimum score of 90 points on the internet based test
- Minimum score of 600 points on the paper based test
- Please note that the test results must be sent directly from ETS to NTNU, in addition to you uploading them in Søknadsweb. NTNU's department code for English Proficiency tests is 9652.
• IELTS (International English Language Testing Service)
- Academic test with a minimum overall band score of 6.5
• University of Cambridge tests, at least one of the following:
- First Certificate in English
- Certificate in Advanced English
- Certificate of Proficiency in English
• Pearsons Academic English test (PTE) or PTE Academic Online:
- The academic version with a minimum score of 62
English language tests (IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson) can not be older than two years at time of the application deadline.

You hold a High School diploma from the EU/EEA, but not from an exempted country.
You will need to upload a certificate documenting that you meet the B2 English language level, using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages scale. Please note that an IELTS of 6.0 is not sufficient.
