Last week, I participated in the SIOS Online Conference 2021 with an abstract titled “Scientific Applications of Unmanned Vehicles in Svalbard”. My presentation was based on the SESS Report chapter that I wrote for SIOS last year. Today, I was notified that I received the SIOS Early Career Researcher Award for my work! The prize is that SIOS will cover the article processing charges for any submissions to their remote sensing special issue!

I’d like to thank all my collegues with whom I have been working on the SESS report, UNIS and NTNU for supporting my research, and of course SIOS!
